Development Features

In 2011, the university was officially renamed as University of Science and Technology with approval from the Executive Yuan, creating the first instance of a merger between vocational and technical colleges in Taiwan when it combined with the Taichung Nursing College.

Started as a business school, the university now has a total of five colleges and 21 departments, including the School of Business, the College of Information and Distribution Science, the College of Design, the College of Language, and the College of Health. Our pragmatic and diversified curriculum design meets students’ needs to be positioned in the right place with respect to their profession. In addition, our educational objectives are to cultivate professionals in all fields who facilitate national industrial development. The university also connects with the development of various science and technology industries in Taichung such as precision machinery, medical tourism, cultural and creative industry, LOHAS, and real estate by bringing regional advantages into play and combining resources to encourage research, industry-academy cooperation, and innovative teaching. We emphasize both theoretical and practical skills to strengthen the competitiveness of students in the workplace, and cultivate interdisciplinary professionals to enhance students’ diverse competencies.
